Challenge

In Singapore, individuals with autism face persistent barriers to long-term employmentranging from societal stigma and limited workplace accommodations to a general lack of awareness in professional environments. Compounding this is a critical gap in life skills development between the ages of 8 and 23. Key abilities such as time management, social integration, and independent living are often overlooked in schools, and the low student-to-special-education-needs officer ratio further limits support. As a result, many families shoulder significant financial and emotional burdens during their children’s transition into adulthood and the workforce.

Approach

Building on insights from the GATES program, Undifferent addresses key learning barriers through a co-living learning center designed for individuals with diverse learning needs—including those who are undiagnosed. The program offers a structured, supportive environment where participants can develop essential life and academic skills tailored to their unique profiles. This includes adapting home routines for independent living, creating personalized Individual Support Plans (ISPs), providing academic support with assistive technologies, executive function coaching, and emotional and behavioral support. Physical and mental well-being are also nurtured through mentorship, social integration activities, and personal care guidance.

By closing critical life skills gaps—such as time management, social interaction, and independent living – Undifferent reduces long-term burdens on families and enables more sustainable, confident transitions to adulthood and employment.

Trampolene has been a tremendous support for my 10-year-old son. The trainers not only shared their invaluable insights and experience with us but also equipped our son with essential skills such as planning, perspective-taking, and nonverbal communication. The sessions have been incredibly beneficial, and my son eagerly looks forward to meeting his trainers and friends every week. A heartfelt thank you to Xueting and Francis for their patience, dedication, and thoughtful guidance in every class” – Parent
