Challenge

There is growing recognition of the value of participatory art-based interventions throughout all stages of psychiatric carefrom prevention and treatment to rehabilitation. However, structured and inclusive programs remain limited, especially those supporting individuals transitioning from psychiatric treatment back into everyday life. Participatory art programs have demonstrated their potential to enhance clinical outcomes and personal recovery by providing meaningful opportunities for self-expression, social connection, and rebuilding a sense of belonging. CKMS aims to strengthen and expand these interventions to address this clear and growing need within the mental health system.

ECCA's partnership with CKMS focuses on strengthening and expanding participatory arts-based programs that support healing and reintegration for individuals transitioning from psychiatric care back into everyday life. By developing inclusive, creative interventions, CKMS helps participants express themselves, build social connections, and regain a sense of belonging. The partnership also aims to enhance CKMS's communication and collaboration with psychiatric users, families, and community partners to increase awareness and accessibility of these transformative programs.
